The United Arab Emirates has come out in support of Saudi Arabia over a US intelligence report that the Crown Prince of Riyadh approved the capture or assassination of Saudi journalist Jamal Khashoggi, Reuters reported, citing the Saudi news agency WAM.

The UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs expressed its confidence and support for the court decisions of Saudi Arabia, which confirm the kingdom's commitment to transparent and impartial implementation of the law and to hold everyone involved in this case accountable, WAM notes.

Earlier, the Joe Biden administration announced sanctions and bans on the issuance of visas to citizens of Saudi Arabia in connection with the murder in 2018 of Saudi journalist Jamal Khashoggi but did not impose sanctions on Crown Prince.

Saudi Arabian authorities have denied the crown prince's involvement in the murder of Khashoggi.
