Reader's View: ‘We all must complain’ about what Trump is doing

Moreover, his ignorance on how to legally run the government is astounding.

When attempts are made to hold President Donald Trump accountable for illegal or even criminal behavior, he opens the theoretical dictator playbook. This directs him to employ the same response of deny, deflect, and delay.

We have seen this countless times. He denies responsibility for anything that goes wrong. It is always someone else’s fault. According to a MAGA talking point, injuries and deaths of Capitol Police as a result of Jan. 6, 2021, were the result of peaceful demonstrators being provoked by police.

In his two impeachments in the U.S. House, he refused to provide information to the evaluators. When questions were still raised, other issues were brought up, such as peaceful Black Lives Matter demonstrations, to deflect attention away from him. His continuous, unfounded accusations against ex-President Joe Biden, the Democrats, and opponents serve the same apparent purpose.

He has been exceptionally successful in delaying consequences for 34 felony convictions. These convictions and six bankruptcies in parts of his businesses have created doubts about his business ability. Moreover, his ignorance on how to legally run the government is astounding.

The result has been that, as our attention has been on his talking about invading Canada, Mexico, and Panama and buying Greenland, he and Elon Musk have been destroying the administrative structure of our federal government, abandoning Ukraine and NATO (our most successful alliance) and raising taxes on everyone with his poorly thought-out tariffs.

We all must complain. We can succeed if we stick together.
