OKLAHOMA CITY (WNDU) - The Indiana Pacers and the Oklahoma City Thunder will square off in Game 7 of the NBA Finals on Sunday night.

It’s the first time since 2016 that the NBA Finals will need all seven games to decide a champion, and it’s only the 20th Game 7 of the finals in league history, according to ESPN.

The Thunder have been heavily favored throughout the NBA Finals, and Sunday’s final game will be no different.

But as we’ve come to learn with this upset-minded Pacers team, anything is possible after making an improbable playoff run filled with historic comebacks and crazy buzzer beaters.

History doesn’t favor the Pacers’ chances, as home teams are 15-4 in Game 7 of the finals. But at the same time, history does help the Pacers as the aforementioned last Game 7 in 2016 went the way of the LeBron James-led Cleveland Cavaliers, who defeated the 73-win Golden State Warriors on their home floor to complete the only 3-1 comeback in NBA Finals history.

If the Pacers win Game 7 and pull off what would arguably be the biggest NBA Finals upset in league history, they’ll win their first NBA championship in franchise history. If the Thunder win, it will be the franchise’s first title since they won it all as the Seattle SuperSonics in 1979.

Game 7 tips off tonight at 8 p.m. EDT on ABC.
