President Trump’s attacks on former vice president Joe Biden’s response to crime plaguing inner cities during the 1980s and 1990s leaves out an inconvenient truth: In many ways, Trump’s response was far worse.

Trump took to attacking the Democratic presidential candidate on Twitter by pointing to his involvement with the controversial 1994 Violent Crime Control and Law Enforcement Act — also known as the Crime Bill. He tweeted: “Super Predator was the term associated with the 1994 Crime Bill that Sleepy Joe Biden was so heavily involved in passing. That was a dark period in American History, but has Sleepy Joe apologized? No!”
