It’s three days before the official start of summer and I don’t really have anything specific to talk about so it’s time for “a little bit of this and a little bit of that.”

Let’s start with O.J. Simpson joining the world of social media. In case you did not hear the former football great and accused double-murderer joined Twitter over the weekend and has already attracted some 707,000 followers which is about 704,000 more than yours truly.

In making the announcement as to why he’s suddenly decided to jump in on the popular social networking service, Simpson said there are a lot of fake O.J. Twitter accounts out there and his will be the real one where we can get his thoughts on just about everything.

I hope he shares with us how he got away with killing two people when all the evidence clearly showed he was guilty.

Speaking of killing I want to thank the New York Mets for killing any thoughts I might have of enjoying a summer of meaningful baseball.  Once again before the month of June is over they have pretty much been relegated to a second-tier team that should start thinking about the future and not the present.

While it’s not his fault I can’t listen to another post-game press conference in which manager Mickey Callaway defends his players, especially a group of relievers that might be the worst in major league history.  The next important game in which I team I root for will play is on August 31st when Penn State opens its football season against Idaho.

By the way once they find another pitcher or two the Yankees will be on their way to winning a 28th World Series which is only 26 more than the Mets.

We know President Trump has no love for the major news networks and now he’s even unhappy with Fox News and accusing them of “fake news.”  The president is upset that the conservative-leaning network released its own poll which showed Trump trailing five Democratic presidential candidates in head-to-head matchups if the 2020 election was held now.

In that poll former Vice President Joe Biden had a 10-point lead on Trump which is similar to a Quinnipiac University survey released last week which showed Biden 13 points ahead.  In a tweet the president said “something weird going on a Fox.  Our polls show us leading in all 17 Swing States.”

I’ll reserve comment for another day.
